Big Block Dream

This weekend, I have been working on moving the Corvette to make room for a concrete slab to be poured behind the garage. Even after I stop working, my mind keeps figuring out the next steps I need to take to complete the move. Whatever project I am working on, this always happens; I cannot shut down my thoughts about the work.

I took yesterday off as a sabbatical to recover from the physical work I did on Saturday. The older I get, the more time it takes to recover.

Last night, as my mind kept working through things about the Corvette, it moved to dreaming about building the engine. The dream seemed so real; I was collecting the parts I needed to build the Big Block. The main parts I need are a set of Chevy Big Block aluminum heads. I met with a guy who knew where I could buy a set of heads. During our conversation, he asked what my plans were for the build. I went into detail about how I plan to build the engine. He said that it was going to be a nice-sounding Big Block. I was supposed to meet with this guy the next day, where I would pay him the agreed price, and he would deliver the aluminum heads. But… I woke up. When I woke up, I was disappointed that there was no real progress with the engine build.

One day I will find a set of aluminum Big Block heads…
