Car Titles

My day has been made!!

There were two car titles we had not seen since days after the flood. When we first got back four days after we evacuated, the first thing I did was open our 110-year-old safe that went underwater. I knew if I waited, it might never open again. I took out all the important papers, which included the car titles. I laid the titles out on the back porch so the sun would dry them out. Later that day, I saw that two of the titles were in the backyard, where the wind had blown them. I picked up the VW Bug title and the Corvette title. When I picked them up, I had no idea where I had put them. Over the last five years, we knew where all the titles were except those two.

Jennifer just showed me that she found them! One of the first things we did after the flood was to buy the Acadia so we would have something to drive. She looked through a folder with all the Acadia paperwork, and those two titles were in it.

I was just about to start the process of filing for a lost title in the next week or so, since the Bug is getting close to being able to drive.

That made my day when she found those titles!
