Grand Jury Service

I am currently serving on the Galveston County Grand Jury. We meet every Thursday. My jury service goes until the end of the year. I look forward to my civic duty each week. Grand Jury service is nothing like jury duty. Jury duty focuses on one case to decide guilt or innocence, but the grand jury reviews cases to decide whether there is enough evidence to send them to court. On a typical Thursday, we are presented with 35-45 cases. Yesterday was a tough one. I cannot talk about what was presented, except that there is a lot of evil out there. And this is just in Galveston County. I cannot imagine what else happens throughout the rest of the world.

I drove home thanking God for our simple family and His protection over us.
