T38 Pitot/Static Tube

This is a pitot / static tube off a NASA T-38 jet. When I worked in the shipyards, we went to a lot of auctions. One time Bruce Stapp bought a lot of old pitot tubes from an auction. When I pulled the trailer to the shop, I recognized what these were. He bought them because they were made of stainless. Bruce saw how excited I was that these came from the Astronaut jets, so he said, ’Why don’t you pick one out and take it home.’ The hard part was finding one that was straight. Most were bent because they were moved around and then loaded onto the trailer with a front-end loader.

So here is the straightest one I found. I have had this for over 35 years.
